Countdown to 2010 Party with Nihong Gang at Suntec

Had a great time yesterday with my Nihong buddies but without the booze (err... alcoholic drinks), coz this is not a pub. LOL! We had lotsa fun listening to nice songs, singing along, whistling, and cheering whole night! The music, the atmosphere, and the crowd were awesome. Well, it's kinda memorable day, to start the new year and to welcome year 2010. So, all in all, it was sort of a great way to end the year and new dreams, new aspirations, better times to come for everyone of us in 2010.

Amazing Light Art Performance Photography (LAPP)

Joerg Miedza and JanLeonardo Woellert are the producers of these amazing LAPP. LAPP is a one-shot long time bulb exposure photography technique, performed additionally with movement of light.

LAPP originates on a real-time basis directly in front of the camera. Created between opening and closing the shutter. The pictures shown here are in each case one single photo, not a result of working on the computer. With especially developed light and luminous tools they are projected on the sensor. Within a performance, form and colour by light arrange such complicated figures and light forms.

LAPP is decended from light drawing and has been developed to its own art form. LAPP, as the evolution of light drawing, is complemented with additional elements in form of light figures, colours and light-forms to create such a special view of the general view.

Visit LAPP-PRO website for more.

Geekology: What sort of geek are you?

Most of the objects of geek affection mapped into a sprawling diagram of geek culture. Turn this into a poster & it would be a beautiful piece of art to put on any room wall.

Hackerspace SG X'mas Party

It's gift exchange in the form of game time!!! Justin Lee (@triplez82) announcing the game clues. Game participants searching for gifts according to clues. One of the clue is "Lee Kuan Yew", which is definitely something related to a book. Quite a fun game...

Other activities are card game. For the first time see people playing "The SET Daily Puzzle" card game. IMO, it is more of a "geek" card game when I see the people are so focus into the game which is unlikely for other card games such as black jack, UNO, etc. I guess this card game somehow need the players to crack their mind a little, logically to solve the puzzle.

The environment looks cozy at night & pretty crowded. As you can see from the photo shots, the place is almost full house. The turnouts are as good as the previous Barcamp SG after-party (HackerspaceSG housewarming).

We are also celebrating Ruiwen Chua (@ruiwen) birthday. Ruiwen Chua & Justin Lee are the Hackerspace SG (hackerspace.sg) founders.

Oh BTW, Merry Christmas to everyone!

The Social Compass! - Brian Solis' Latest Stroke of Genius

Brilliant diagram as usual. I love Brian Solis and JESS3 for their visual thinking. This is so far, the king of social marketing visualization encapsulation. Brian has done it again. It can be turned into a cool, full-size poster. You may ask, what is "The Social Compass"? Like a real compass, it "serves as our value system when defining our program activities. It points a brand in a physical and experiential direction to genuinely and effectively connect with customers, peers, and influencers, where they interact and seek guidance online."
